A MOTHER has been left on the verge of tears after her husband’s actions on Christmas Day.
The 35-year-old had been looking forward to making sweet memories with her toddler as he finally understood the concept of Santa.

She explained in a lengthy post on Reddit that she and her husband, 35, have been married for four years.
The couple have a three-month-old baby and a two-year-old son, with whom they are excited to make family traditions.
This was the first year they’ve been able to talk to their toddler about Santa, tree decorating, and wrapping gifts.
The family opened gifts from relatives on Christmas Eve as part of her German heritage, while leaving those from Santa Claus until morning.
However, Christmas Day was “ruined” when her husband did something that she didn’t expect.
She wrote: “I had a rough night with the baby, so slept a little longer than usual this morning (Christmas morning), but not unreasonable I thought – I woke at 7:45.
“The toddler had woken at 6 am and my husband had gotten up to him.
“I got up to discover that my husband had opened up the presents from Santa with my toddler already, which has left me devastated.
“I felt so excluded and robbed of seeing the joy on my child’s face opening up the gifts I had picked out for him.
“He didn’t wait until I woke up, or wake me up if the toddler couldn’t wait.
“My husband commented that it was a lovely father-son moment, which drove the knife in further – clearly I’m an afterthought when he thinks of family.
“I’ve been holding back tears all day for the sake of the toddler.”
Many responses to the post reassured the mom that her feelings were valid and accused her husband of being “selfish.”
One man wrote: “My fiancée would kill me if I did this. I can’t imagine robbing my partner of a moment with this significant.”
Another commented: “That’s truly horrible. My heart breaks for you mama.

“I hope you two can have a productive conversation where he can truly hear how devastating this is for you so that nothing like this can happen again.”
A third said: “That’s an inexcusably a**hole selfish and possibly even passive-aggressive move.
“You need to tell him exactly how you feel, and why what he did was not ok, so he never does it again.”
However, others defended the husband arguing the mom shouldn’t have expected the toddler to wait for her to sleep in.
One person wrote: “Husband did nothing wrong. He took care of a likely hyper-excited kid while letting the wife get some well-deserved rest.
“I’d be thankful if I was in her situation and look forward to the rest of the day.”
Another penned: “Ruined Christmas? More like you slept through it.
“Kids cannot wait to open gifts and you should’ve set an alarm. You are responsible for yourself no matter what.”
A third added: “This is completely and utterly overblown.
“And they would be saying the dad was an a**hole if he didn’t let the mom sleep in you can’t have everything.
“Why was it a problem for the father to bond with his son.”
