SIMONE Biles and Jonathan Owens have been promoting themselves as the ultimate sporting power couple ahead of her latest Olympic bid, a body language expert has said.

She claimed the world-famous gymnast and her husband’s poses on Instagram prove the backlash over his past comments about his wife has “haunted him.”

Simone, 29, has shared plenty of photos with Jonathan, 29, in the run-up to the 2024 Olympics.

“I love you with all my heart, and I can’t wait to see what this year brings!” the gymnast captioned a photo on Tuesday.

“It’s sad he doesn’t realize how lucky HE is. Simone, I hope he’s so good to you. Truly,” one follower commented.

“He should realize SHE’S the catch AND the better athlete, and he’s the one who’ll be known as Mr.Biles/Simone Biles’ husband,” wrote another.

The Chicago Bears safety had told Texas Monthly in 2019 that when he first saw Simone on a dating app, he “didn’t know” who she was.

His subsequent comments in a podcast interview in December created further backlash.

The football star was asked if he thought his famous wife was “a catch.”

“I always say the men are the catch,” Owens said.

Many of Simone’s fans have piled on him for the remarks, but body language expert Judi James insists they don’t have to worry that she’s not properly appreciated.

“Jonathan’s historical comments seem to have haunted him,” she said.

“If anything, his one comment about being a catch might have come from a place of insecurity.

“Now he looks completely submissive and shows an immersive interest in his wife and the relationship.

“Jonathan looks slightly in awe of Simone.”

BEND THE RULES

James also noticed Jonathan “gravitating” toward his wife.

“Jonathan wants to gravitate close to and hold Simone in these poses,” she said.

“He announced she was his priority by turning his head from the camera and gazing lovingly at Simone’s face.

There are also strong signals of sexual attraction between them both.

“Jonathan could not do more in terms of body language to show that he adores Simone.

“This is where he does not even share her spotlight — he bends naturally into Simone and leans in most of the time.

“His wide leg-splay also suggested a macho confidence.”

Simone started dating the NFL player in 2020 after a three-year relationship with WWE star Stacey Ervin, Jr.

The couple announced their engagement in early 2022 and married in April 2023.

James claimed the poses in wedding photos were just as revealing.

“Simone frequently face-checked Jonathan to see if he was happy and having fun during their big day,” she said.

She might be slightly more in control, but at times, her clinging displays show she surrenders to him.

“He responded by dancing attention and adoration circles around her.

“Jonathan was more demonstrative in leaning his head in to kiss or nuzzle her.

“He even punched the air in a gesture of victory as they emerged hand-in-hand.”

UNITED FRONT

According to James, the couple wants to look like a power couple while showing “a sexual attraction.”

“There are also strong signals of sexual attraction between them both,” she said.

“They naturally place arms over the other or extend hands to grab the other’s thighs.”

In addition to physical attraction, they “promote an equally balanced sporting power couple.”

“They are trying to show how they take the spotlight in turns,” James said.

“Simone and Jonathan’s body language signals suggest careful coping when avoiding all those past pitfalls.

“But it is Simone’s non-verbal signals that suggest high levels of emotional maturity.”

Simone is in Paris, where she is gearing up for the Olympics.

She has also released a four-part documentary covering her life thus far.

A key moment in her career was withdrawing from the Tokyo Games in 2020 amid mental health issues.

By then, the Columbus native had won seven medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics, including four gold, one silver, and two bronze.

She is the most decorated gymnast in history, winning 37 combined medals at the world championships and the Olympics.

ROCK OUT

Simones’s gestures in her selfies are telling, the body language expert continued.

“Simone rocks the pout towards the camera in her selfies,” James said.

“Jonathan continues to want to plant his lips on her cheek in acts of adoration.

Simone seems keen to guard him from criticism or harm.

Jonathan is set to join his wife on July 29 after the Chicago Bears gave him time off to head to Paris.

In May, the former Houston Texans player Jonathan had showed up at a gymnastics competition in Connecticut.

Jonathan was shown on TV as “Simon Biles’ Husband.”

Simone immediately spoke out against the negative comments.

“Y’all are blatantly being disrespectful to my relationship & my husband,” she wrote on Instagram.

“So I’m gonna go ahead and say this one time … Respectfully, f*** off,” she added.

ON DUTY

“Simone’s poses can also make her look protective and possessive of Jonathan,” added James.

“Sometimes, she stands before him, holding an arm across his torso or legs as a barrier gesture.

“Simone seems keen to guard him from criticism or harm.

“She does her duty by offering fan-girl adoration signals when he is also playing his sport.

“We can see her arching her back in a gesture of pride or stretching up and baring her neck to perform a kiss of reward.

“She has a hand of protective ownership over his waist and may be anxious while he competes.

“It will be telling how Jonathan acts when he watches her compete in Paris.”
