A BRIDE-TO-BE has accused her friend of guilting her into allowing her boyfriend to come to her wedding.

She started to receive backlash after threatening to uninvite her friend because of her attitude toward being told her boyfriend couldn’t come.

Ahead of her 200-person wedding, the bride-to-be took to Facebook to shame her friend for calling her up “in tears” over the guestlist.

“She’s been with her boyfriend since we were 17 but has always said that they had no interest in getting married because her parents went through a bad divorce when she was a child,” she said.

“I reminded her that I’ve told everyone from the beginning that we want this day to be full of love and happiness for everyone.

“And to celebrate all of the long-term couples in our lives as well as ourselves, so we were only inviting committed couples.

“My friend then started shouting down the phone that she’d been with her boyfriend for over a decade without any breaks, which was not the case for half of the married couples in our friendship group.

“She then pointed out that my hubby-to-be and I wouldn’t even be together if it wasn’t for her boyfriend.

“Hubby used to work with him but they lost touch after Hubby changed jobs to earn more for us.”

The bride-to-be said her friend brought up that she had only been dating her fiance for a year before their engagement.

She added that her friend’s attitude and supposed need to “always be the victim” were enough reasons to uninvite her from the wedding.

The post was shared on Reddit after going viral with people sharing their opinions.

“Imagine thinking your rushed marriage is worth more than your friend’s 10-year relationship…?”  a user captioned it.

A flood of responses to the thread blasted the bride and accused her of being judgemental of her friend’s decision not to get married.

“When the bride’s relationship ends, I wonder who she will turn to if she cuts off this friend,” one person said.

“I never understand these people who only recognize marriage as commitment.

“They’ve been together 10 years, never split, just don’t believe in marriage…yeah, no commitment there whatsoever [eye roll].”

“Wow, that’s some judgemental a**holery!” another wrote.

“‘You can’t bring your boyfriend because you don’t want to get married’ Really? Just eff off!!”

Wedding guestlist etiquette

According to Hitched, plus ones are typically the most “controversial” element of any wedding guest list.

It isn’t uncommon to draw the line at only inviting those who are married or engaged, or anyone who’s been in a relationship for over a year.

Wedding planner Nalini Raman of Knots & Nuptials told the publication that “conflict or misunderstandings” may be avoided by communicating clear criteria early on with friends and family.

“This woman sounds insufferable, her friend is much better off without her!” a third chimed in.

“I been with my man for 23 years do you know how many married couples we have seen come and go? She sounds like an absolute know it all b***h.”

Others confessed they were hoping the bride-to-be’s marriage wouldn’t work out because she decided to uninvite her friend.

One person addressed her directly in a heated response.

“What a monster you are!” they wrote. As if you have the monopoly on love just because of your big fat wedding.

“I can guarantee your marriage won’t last because you are a very heartless and biased individual.”
